When we interact with another human being, we are interacting with all of humanity.  Seeing humanity at its best in every interaction will go a long way in helping us become more civilized, loving beings. (In  some interactions, you may just have to pretend a little and that is ok.)

Everything IS Possible!

How to quit smoking or change anything YOU want to change about yourself.

This post is about how to quit smoking, but it really applies to anything you want to change. It is easier if you change things from a self identity place first. Then it can manifest in your life more easily. (Hint: This does not work to change someone else!)

How to quit smoking easily and effortlessly. (Or gently change anything you think or believe that YOU want to change)

Do not attempt until YOU are ready to quit. I does not matter what others want you to do.

If you are looking for specific steps by step instructions this is not it. If you are analytical this may not be the best approach for you.

If you can FEEL, if you can transition or evolve - go with the flow, you will enjoy the power this process will give you.

What will change is how you identify with yourself over time. If part of your identity is that you are a smoker, that part of your self-perception must shift first.

Be easy about it and allow this change to occur do not force it.  Love yourself right now for who you are!

When ever you think about it - once a month, once a week, once a day, or while smoking a cigarette at your favorite time think or say to yourself something positive about your smoking habit. “Wow, I did not smoke as many cigarettes as usual yesterday.”  “Wow, this cigarette does not taste as good as usual.”

“Every day I am smoking less and less!”

It does not matter if it is “true” you are creating a new truth for yourself. Speak or feel these words with excitement. Be amazed, be happy about it!

Never condemn yourself or feel guilt - always praise your progress especially the baby steps.

In time - what ever time it takes, what ever time will serve you best you will eventually find no use for them because your identity of your self will change.

This process works for things you want to improve as well. You are “Youthful”,  “Creative” , “A Good and Patient Parent”, “An appreciative and loving spouse“ etc.

The resistance you will feel is the contrast or conflict between your mind (ego) trying to keep the facts straight and your subconscious mine willing to experience something new and different. You are not under oath, you are day dreaming.  Day dreams become reality all the time.

So, a few weeks ago I went to a party. I heard a song I liked; the music was lively and fun. I did not understand any of the words so I asked someone the name of the song, thinking I would look up the lyrics later. That never happened. This past weekend, at another party, the song played again, this time with the lyrics on the screen. The song was actually sad. The title of the song is S.O.B. by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. I was particularly interested because when I was way too young to appreciate “curse words” one of my neighborhood friends told me what my initials meant! (I do not consider my initials to be S.O.B.; I actually consider them to be S.M.O.)

The song is good, but truly a cry for help. If you know someone struggling and in need of help. Please help them. If they are self medicating, they are messing with their brain chemistry and incapable of making good decisions. Maybe they disguise their cry with lively music!

How can Chiropractic help? How can it not? If it involves a nerve, it is a Chiropractic case. The nerve system is damaged chemically, the body is damaged physically and the spirit is damaged emotionally. They will most likely not have back pain, but they are also incapable of making a good decision. Please help. In my next post, I will tell a sad story of two people in my life that I did not help when they needed it. I did not have the skills at the time and I did not know about Chiropractic. I call them “The Two that got away”.

A word or two about organics

A Word or Two about Organics…

and how that relates to you.

“Organic” has a legal definition and standards – basically for anything grown, it is done without artificial chemical support. This is why things are certified organic. Organic farming management relies on developing biological diversity in the field to disrupt habitat for pest organisms, and the purposeful maintenance and replenishment of soil fertility1.

Natural does not really mean much, it is a marketing term! Something can be called natural and be artificial as long as it can be made naturally. Lab created ascorbic acid, (vitamin C), is considered natural because it can be made naturally, even though the ingredients in the product may be synthetic. Your dog’s poo is natural because it is made naturally – you do not necessarily want it as an ingredient.

In the practice of Principled Chiropractic, we do not tell you what to eat or not eat, we clear your nerve system and set you free to perceive through your own Innate Wisdom and nerve system what foods work for you and what foods create disharmony in your body. When subluxated*, you consume what is easily available because you are in survival mode. When your nerve system is clear, you begin to gravitate to those foods which contribute to long term thriving. This will make expressing your true creative nature easier and more effortless.

What those foods may be are different for everybody which is why it makes no sense to tell you what they are. Allowing you to perceive these things for yourself; from “Above-Down, Inside-Out”; has lifelong benefits for you. You gain ownership of your choices, “Garbage in- garbage out” you begin to define what is garbage for you.

Obviously, when pesticides and artificial chemicals are left out of the “growing” process, there is less “garbage” or “toxins” for your body to spend time and energy eliminating (or storing in your body).

This is all well and good, but wait…The real benefit of organic food is so much more amazing.

Although, eating food that has not been grown within a chemical “crutch” environment is a good thing, it is “Outside-In” not “Inside-Out”. Our culture is constantly looking for outside-in solutions when the answers are already within.

The most amazing thing about organics is that without the artificial chemical “crutch” the plants, trees, etc. must be able to adapt to their environment and thrive using their innate God given, Mother Nature given abilities. They must perceive the threat and develop a way to eliminate it or adapt to it so they can thrive. Plants don’t want to survive today; they want to complete their life cycle in a thriving manner. In doing so, more nutrients (higher concentration and variety) are generated within the plant to support a thriving life. It takes for effort for living things to thrive vs survive, but the payoff is bigger! Do plants have to rely on their own abilities? Definitely. Do plants have to create harmonious relationships with other plants and vermin to support them? Yes.

What has been created on the INSIDE; not what has been eliminated on the OUTSIDE, is what makes organic food more nutritious for us to eat.

When your nerve system is clear because you receive regular Chiropractic care, you too are better able to create and thrive because of your ability to perceive your environment, adapt and change to reach your goals. Whatever your goals are, they are more easily realized.

Keep in mind the inside out benefits of organic applies to you. Optimal thriving expression of you, your gifts and talents plus bigger life experiences!!

*Subluxated-Having a vertebral subluxation, misalignment of one or more spinal bones, causing dysfunction in your nerve system at some level, with or without symptoms.

Does your child's school bus driver need to be checked for Subluxations?

sticky school bus

Imagine this scenario.  You see your kids off to school safely every morning. As you watch them climb the school bus stairs and scamper to their seats, the driver gives you a subtle nod letting you know it's time to cart your little ones off.  Everything appears normal, just another routine day.

What you don't know is years ago, your kids' bus driver had a bad fall that nearly knocked her unconscious.  Ever since, she's been suffering with migraine headaches, dizziness and fatigue.  It's to the point where her attention and focus are altered for the worse.  Among the many medications she takes for the pain, she just received a new prescription for antidepressants - hopefully to keep her functioning through the day.  The doctors can't find anything wrong with her.  There's a good chance she's Subluxated, it's the SOURCE of her constant suffering and no one has told her about Chiropractic.

How better off would every school bus driver be with a CLEAR Nerve System?  How much safer would your kids be on their daily ride to school? You never know how far reaching the Principle of Chiropractic can be.  Make sure you're telling the story.  Lives depend on it.

Helping people express their optimal LIFE makes my “job” so much fun. I laugh at least once a day because you make me smile. Thank you for sharing your awesome life with me.

Innate has left the building

One of the not so obvious, yet fundamental differences between the practice of medicine and the practice of chiropractic is that one spends most of its time dealing with death and disease, while the other, the full expression of Life.

The MD mostly spends his or her time on diagnosis, treatment, sickness, convalescence and eventually hospice - the states which arise from the suppression of innate Life force.  Whereas the DC (doctor of chiropractic) focuses his or her time on analysis, adjustment, vitality and vivification - the states which arise from the full expression of innate Life force.  Here's an astute observation... when you focus MORE attention on the later, the need for the former reduces.

This is what Chiropractors believe TRUE health care is, as opposed to the SICK and DYING CARE we spend trillions on today.  How much better off would we all be if more time was spent keeping innate happy, fully flowing in her house, instead of treating the ruin that results from her absence.
